ARM vs X86

有鑑於 ARM 在 Embedded Market 如此成功,現在x86 的老大哥 Intel 也注意到這塊大餅的商機,畢竟 Cell Phone, Table PC, EE-PC,, 的汰換率高,不像桌機一用就是好幾年,這對 CPU 製造商而言, 每個世代的CPU所推出的時間就會被Delay,或者是消費者的購買慾望降低,相對的獲利就會大幅縮水..好像扯遠了... 底下找了一些 data,有興趣的人可以看看,大概說明 ARM 跟 X86 在Architecture 上的差異,跟未來 ARM 還有 X86的市場走向. 結語 不難發現 ARM 也走向Multi cores的架構,而 Intel 在 Power Architecture 上下功夫,代表High Performance && Low Power 是這兩家公司主要的目標,分別截長補短來補足現有架構下的缺失.
